Nigerian actress and media personality Tonto Dikeh has lost her ambassadorial deal with Promise Land Innovation Limited, the company behind the WEALTH App.
The company announced the termination of the actress’s brand ambassadorship on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, bringing an end to the agreement with immediate effect.
According to a statement issued by the company, the decision followed what it described as issues relating to the fulfilment of contractual obligations.
The development has attracted attention because Tonto Dikeh had only recently been unveiled as a brand ambassador for the company’s investment and wealth-management platform.
Promiseland Terminates Tonto Dikeh’s Deal
Promise Land Innovation Limited, owners of the WEALTH App, announced the termination in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Mrs Gift Emmanuel, and dated September 15, 2026.
The company stated that the termination of Tonto Dikeh’s ambassadorial agreement takes immediate effect.
The announcement means that the actress will no longer represent the company in her capacity as a brand ambassador under the agreement.
Vanguard reported that the company linked its decision to issues surrounding the contractual obligations attached to the partnership. Daily Post similarly reported that Promiseland cited unfulfilled contractual obligations in announcing the termination.
The company’s decision marks a sudden change in a partnership that had generated considerable attention when Tonto Dikeh was initially unveiled.
Tonto Dikeh Was Unveiled Earlier This Year
Tonto Dikeh was unveiled as an ambassador for Promiseland’s WEALTH App earlier in 2026.
Reports published at the time said Promiseland Estate launched the wealth app and introduced the actress as its brand ambassador.
The partnership was designed to associate the actress’s public profile with the company’s financial technology platform and its efforts to promote wealth creation and investment opportunities.
The unveiling received coverage from Nigerian media outlets, including THISDAY, which reported in May 2026 that Promiseland Estate had launched its wealth app and unveiled Tonto Dikeh as its brand ambassador.
The announcement of the termination therefore comes only months after the original unveiling.
What Led to the Termination?
The major issue raised in the company’s announcement is the alleged failure to fulfil certain contractual obligations.
However, the available reports do not provide a detailed breakdown of every obligation involved in the agreement or the specific incidents that allegedly led to the termination.
For that reason, it would be premature to speculate about the circumstances beyond what has been officially reported.
The company has communicated its decision, but the full details of the contractual disagreement have not been publicly established in the reports currently available.
The distinction is important because ambassadorial agreements are commercial contracts, and termination can occur for several reasons depending on the terms agreed upon by both parties.
A Major Development for Tonto Dikeh
For Tonto Dikeh, the development represents the end of another high-profile commercial partnership.
The actress is one of Nigeria’s most recognisable entertainment personalities and has maintained a strong presence beyond Nollywood through social media, public appearances, advocacy and business-related activities.
Celebrity endorsements have become an important part of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Companies often work with popular entertainers because of their large audiences and ability to create awareness around products and services.

An ambassadorial agreement can therefore be significant for both sides: the company gains access to the celebrity’s audience, while the celebrity becomes associated with the brand and its products.
When such a partnership ends unexpectedly, it naturally attracts public interest.
Promiseland and the WEALTH App
Promiseland’s WEALTH App was introduced as part of the company’s broader efforts in the financial and investment space.
The company’s decision to terminate its relationship with Tonto Dikeh does not, by itself, indicate that the WEALTH App has stopped operating.
The current announcement concerns the ambassadorial agreement between the company and the actress.
It is therefore important for readers to distinguish between the termination of a celebrity endorsement and the status of the company’s business or financial product.
Tonto Dikeh Yet to Give Further Details
As of the reports published on September 15, 2026, the announcement from Promiseland is the key information surrounding the termination.
There has been no detailed response from Tonto Dikeh included in the reports cited above explaining her position on the company’s decision.
If the actress issues a statement addressing the termination or providing additional details about the contractual disagreement, such information could provide further context to the development.
Until then, the safest account is to rely on the company’s announcement and avoid attributing unverified reasons to either party.
Celebrity Ambassadorial Deals in Nigeria
Celebrity ambassadorial partnerships have become increasingly common in Nigeria.
Actors, musicians, sports personalities, influencers and other public figures are frequently signed by companies to promote products and services.
The strategy is particularly attractive in an era when celebrities can communicate directly with millions of followers through social media.
A celebrity’s reputation can help a new product gain visibility quickly, while the company can benefit from the entertainer’s existing fan base.
However, ambassadorial relationships also come with responsibilities.
Both the celebrity and the company are expected to comply with the terms of their agreement. Where one party believes that contractual requirements have not been met,
