Burna boy hit 100 million streams on Boomplay

Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy becomes the first artiste to hit 100 million streams on streaming platform, Boomplay.

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper. He is one of the biggest and most successful African artists and and the world at large.He was born 2^nd July 1991 in Port Harcourt Rivers state.

The 27-year-old super star has taken on several genres in music including Afro-fusion, Afro beat, Reggae, hip pop, pop, dance hall and R &B.

Just few months after Burna Boy won big in the Best World Album category for his album, Twice as Tall

It has been more than a decade since  the self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ launched into the music scene and has since been one of the biggest artiste in Africa

His album African Giant which won the ‘Album of the year’, award currently holds a record of 29 Million streams on Boomplay while the Grammy-winning ‘Twice as Tall’ recorded over one million streams within 24hrs of its release on Boomplay.

Few months after it’s release, his fifth album, ‘Twice as Tall’ has had Over 45 Million streams on Boomplay, making it the most streamed album on Boomplay Music.

Burna boy is closely followed by Fireboy and Olamide on the all-time Boomplay chart among other popular Nigerian artiste including Davido and Wizkid.

Among his several awards are South south music Awards, Best album of the year, Listeners’ choice award of the year,Beat global Music album to mention but a few.

Burna boy has performed severally singles and as well as associated acts with other musicians including Stormzy,Saudi sol,  Ed Sheeran , Wizkid , Jorja Smith, Sam smith and even his girlfriend, Steff London .
