WAEC Suspends Manual Confirmation Of Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) office in Nigeria has announced that starting from 1999 to date, the council will no longer manually confirm or stamp certificates of candidates who sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). This decision follows the launch of the Digital Certificate Platform by the examination body. The public and stakeholders have been encouraged to use the platform to simplify the complications associated with manual access and confirmation systems.

In a statement, Moyosola Adesina, the council’s acting Head of Public Affairs, stated that the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform enables candidates to access, download, and share their authentic WAEC certificates. Institutions and organizations can also promptly and securely confirm candidates’ certificates through the platform, which sources certificates directly from the WAEC database.

Adesina further appealed to institutions, organizations, agencies, embassies, high commissions, and others to provide email addresses for the digital sharing, receiving, and verification of certificates. It is important to note that certificates accessed and shared through the platform are genuine.
