You are an evil force against the state security – Man writes to Osun State commissioner of police

Dear Osun Commissioner of Police.

I am about to write this open letter with a note of warning to my readers. Please, do not pity me or advise me that I could be arrested by the notoriously incompetent Commissioner of Police in Osun.

I am aware that the man occupying the highest police office in Osun is capable of anything. He can arrest me, detain me, and even attempt to silence me by wanting me to pay the highest price. I am fully aware of all these possibilities.

Therefore, do not bother about me; leave me to face the consequences of my actions. Thank you in advance to my wonderful readers.

That said, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan, you are an evil force against the peace and security of Osun. Since you were transferred to this state, you have jeopardized Osun’s security to the extent that people are being killed daily by thugs. Instead of taking decisive actions to curb these atrocities, you are constantly seen siding with these criminals.

When the local government crisis reached its peak—a period when security agencies such as the police were expected to remain neutral, you supported the illegality of the APC “Yes or No” chairmen. In fact, you provided them with police escorts to facilitate their unlawful activities. Such conduct was not only disgraceful but deeply troubling.

Again, you have consistently acted against the security interests of Osun people. You appear more concerned about APC activities, and this is one of the reasons APC thugs have grown so bold that they can kill at will without fear of the law. Mr. Commissioner, let me remind you that you were posted to Osun to protect everyone, not to serve a political party. You have turned your office into an APC extension, constantly taking instructions from Oyetola, who is using you as a pawn in a larger political game.

But remember this: the young boy who was killed in Ilobu had a father, just as you are someone’s father. Well, I do not know whether you have children, but if you do, I am certain you would never wish for your 14-year-old child to be killed in such a gruesome manner. I am sure your children are somewhere enjoying the protection and security every child deserves, while you are indirectly enabling the killing of innocent souls in Osun.

Mr. Gotan, the person that killed Ezekiel has been identified. According to the father of the deceased child, he is an APC thug known as Tanfeani. Arrest him so that the killings in Ilobu can stop. Do not allow this case to be swept under the carpet simply because of your political affiliations. We, the discerning citizens of Osun, will not accept it. We will not stand by and watch a man entrusted with our protection supporting those who terrorize us. We are not cowards in Osun. The youth of this state will rise and demand justice for Ezekiel.

Just last week, APC thugs were shooting openly in broad daylight, yet none of them was arrested. Mr. Gotan, do you have a mission to eliminate all those who do not support your preferred candidate in the coming election? If that is your mission, then be prepared to confront the resistance of a people who refuse to surrender to intimidation. Osun people will not succumb to evil.

I want to conclude this letter with a prayer. May peace be upon you and your family. I mean the same kind of peace that Ezekiel’s parents and family are experiencing today. That peace may one day become yours if you continue to neglect your constitutional responsibilities and refuse to uphold justice.
