Slowly and surely, the virus has caught up with the world of football with several high profile names being struck down by the deadly virus

The Coronavirus has caused havoc Round the world, disrupting global activities and unsurprisingly, football has been massively affected by the outbreak. Several football leagues and competitions have been postponed with doubt been cast over the future of EURO 2020 as several National presidents seek to slow down the spread that is currently claiming the lives of thousands. Footballers despite being incredibly fit thanks to dieting and regular training has also been affected meaning the virus doesn’t discriminate in human persons, indeed some clubs and their members have been directly impacted by the pandemic

On Thursday, it was announced that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta tested positive to the virus and thereby their clash with Brighton on Saturday was postponed and current Gunners staff being quarantined

As a result, Chelsea’s training ground has been shut down and everyone who had contact with the player has been advice to self isolate in line with the global health care advice by WHO

Manchester city‘s left back Benjamin Mendy is understood to be in self isolation after it was reported that a relative had tested positive to the virus

In serie A, several players including Juventus centre half Daniele Rugani has tested positive to the virus
