Confusion Rises over Imposed Curfew in river State government as they for close opening of Already Sanctioned banks.
Reports has it that confusion has reason after the River State government led by Governor Nyesom Wike impose the Restriction on movement in some parts of river state which was identified to be Portharcourt areas where there were likely signs of COVID-19.
The Curfew was as a result of the citizens failing to abide by the Quarantine measures stated clearly a day before yesterday by Governor Nwike, areas in Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor council were restricted by Governor Nyesom-Wike due to violation of government’s order for closure of markets, nightclubs and bars.
Other affected areas are Obiri-Ikwerre junction (Ozuoba, Rumualogu) to Choba and from Education Bus Stop to Agip junction. Some residents of the areas alleged that they were harassed by policemen and other security agencies who prevented them from leaving their homes as early as 7:00am for work when the restriction was to take effect from the evening.
Furthermore, other Citizens who were Expected to return to normal duties have been held back due to the limits set on the areas affected.
The Commissioner for transportation further stated that the Curfew imposed on that area was to take place till further notice as far as the Covid-19 quarantine measures take place in the country.
