Luke Shaw admitted that with their recent performance, there is no way Manchester United can get into the Champions League spots.
He said the team must improve quickly after a 1-1 draw with Southampton.
As it has been in recent games, Manchester United started brightly in the first half against the Saints, taking the lead through Jadon Sancho.
But they easily gave away their chance of retaking fourth place in the Premier League with Che Adams equalising for the visitors.
It was the story on Tuesday night when United took the lead against Burnley before throwing away, finishing the game 1-1 and Shaw is frustrated to see the same thing happen again.
“History is repeating itself,” Shaw told the BBC.
“We started really well the first 20 minutes, got the goal and it just happened again. We know it’s not good enough and it needs to change quickly.
“We want to get in the Champions League and it’s not good enough and there’s no way we will get in Champions League if we keep dropping points.
“The most important thing at the moment is results. It’s about picking up the points and we need to be climbing the table.”
