UNIBEN Final Year Student Shot Dead In Hostel

A final-year student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), known as Desmond or ‘Mayor’, has been killed in his room at the Hall 3 Hostel on Monday, April 3, 2023, by gunmen suspected to be cultists. Desmond was a Department of Public Administration student and a Kegite chief. According to an anonymous student, the deceased was shot in the face at close range, leaving him with no chance of survival. This tragic incident has caused panic among students, with some afraid to stay in the hostel. Desmond’s remains have been deposited in the mortuary at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
