On Tuesday, March 28, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, released a statement in which the President expressed confidence in Bola Tinubu’s ability to provide effective governance for Nigeria. Buhari cited Tinubu’s political pedigree, which includes active participation in party politics, service as a Senator and Governor of Lagos State, and diligent involvement in leadership structures at both the Executive and Legislative levels, as assets for good governance. Buhari also praised Tinubu’s warm personality, friendliness, and generosity, which have earned him a network of friends at home and abroad that will provide the requisite expertise to guide the economy and build on the investments of past leaders, particularly in people-first development and infrastructure. Finally, Buhari extended his felicitations to Tinubu ahead of his birthday on March 29 and prayed for his wellbeing and that of his family.
