Selena Gomez has responded to the hurtful remarks made about her recent weight gain on social media.
The actress and singer explained why her weight has been shifting on TikTok Live.

Gomez acknowledged that her medications cause weight gain. She has been battling Lupus, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and pain in specific body parts.
Selena needs to take drugs on a regular basis to reduce the activity of excessive white blood cells because Lupus has a tendency to trigger the body’s immune system to attack its own tissues and organs.
Regrettably, the drug frequently causes adverse effects such nausea, migraines, hair loss, scars, and weight gain.
She mentioned to viewers in her Live broadcast that she is retaining a lot of water weight as a result of her medication.
“I tend to carry a lot of water weight when I’m taking medication, and it happens pretty usually,” she claimed. I kind of lose weight when I stop using it.
Selena noted that since she places her health before anything else, worrying about what other people might think of her body is absurd.
“Yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s**t, but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe that they’re what helps me,” she added.
