ARSENAL MANAGER MIKEL ARTETA TESTS POSITIVE TO CORONAVIRUS.
The Spaniard admitted he was feeling poorly and tests have now confirmed that the Gunners’ boss has tested positive to coronavirus on Thursday
Our London Colney training centre has been closed after head coach Mikel Arteta received a positive COVID-19 result this evening,” an Arsenal club statement read.
Arsenal personnel who had recent close contact with Mikel will now self-isolate in line with Government health guidelines. We expect this to be a significant number of people from Colney, including the full first-team squad and coaching staff, as well as a smaller number of people from our Hale End Academy which we have also temporarily closed as a precaution.
The news would come as a big blow to the Gunners season as this means their head coach could be out for quite a while. It also comes after the Premier League announced their intentions to continue with all matches scheduled for the weekend as proposed but could now see an indefinite postponement
The Gunners were scheduled to take on Brighton on Saturday but could now see the fixture postponed following the postponement of their proposed clash with manchester city moved till further notice
