Nigerian music icon Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, aka D’banj, has announced the launch of his football club, Koko FC, barely days after Don Jazzy unveiled Supremos Football Club.
D’banj’s Koko FC will compete for the N50 million prize, the largest per-game prize in the Nigerian football league.
To recruit talented players, D’banj invited aspiring footballers to upload a 1-minute video showcasing their skills on The Cream platform. The top-voted players will be selected for a physical game to finalize the team.
“Upload a 1-minute video of your skills on the pitch… The top voted players each week will be picked, and we’ll meet up on the pitch for a physical game to select the team!” D’banj announced on X.
Meanwhile, Koko FC’s launch has generated excitement among Nigerian football enthusiasts, marking D’banj’s entry into the sports industry.
