The eighth edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show will premiere July 23 as an “All-Star” show, with housemates from the seven previous editions.
Busola Tejumola, executive head of Content & West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Nigeria, disclosed this during a media briefing in Lagos on Friday.
Tejumola said the premiere would air on all Africa Magic channels: Africa Magic Urban, Showcase and Family at 7:00 p.m. WAT.
She said the show’s overall winner would walk away with N120 million prize.
“The season eight edition of the Big Brother Naija show will premiere July 23 and run till October 1, which is a 70-day show,” she said.

According to her, the housemates were selected based on their profiles and other criteria.
“We have done seven seasons, and for the eighth edition, we feel it is the best time to bring everyone who has been on the show back for an opportunity to win N120 million,” she said.
She hinted at an opportunity for 30 show fans to win N1 million each as they locked in their favourite housemate to win the show in the form of a prediction.
” The head of house challenges, arena games, pool party, and Saturday night party will all be in place to excite fans of the show.
“We have also introduced the “Black Envelope Game,” she said.
Earlier, John Ugbe, chief executive officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, noted that it had been a busy year for the organisation but promised a bigger show for the 8th Edition of BBNaija.

The news we have been waiting for is finally out – the Big Brother Naija season 8 is going to be an All-Star season!
There had been rumours about the nature of this year’s edition of Africa’s biggest reality television show, and it has now been confirmed by the organisers in a press conference held on July 14, 2023.
Key points to note about BBNaija Season 8
- It’s an all-star edition. So you get to see your favourite housemates from past editions lock horns with each other in this year’s show.
- The show starts on the 23rd of July and ends on the 1st of October. It will run for 70 days.
- The winner will go home with an eye-watering sum of One Hundred and Twenty Million Naira (N120,000,000) and other prizes.

BBNaija Season 8 will premiere at 7 pm on Africa Magic Showcase (Ch. 151), Africa Magic Urban (Ch 153) and Africa Magic Family (ch 154). The show will continue to air for ten weeks on the 24-hour Big Brother dedicated channels, DStv ch. 198 and GOtv ch. 49.

- Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is retuning as the host of the show.
