Biden Orders U.S. Flag Be Flown At Half-Mast After Nashville Shooting

Following the tragic school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, which claimed the lives of three young children and three adults, President Joe Biden has ordered all flags at the White House and federal buildings to be flown at half-staff until sunset on March 31. In a statement, Biden expressed his condolences for the victims and directed that the same honor be given at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including military facilities and naval vessels and stations. The President has also urged Congress to enact an assault weapons ban in response to this “senseless act of violence.” The perpetrator of the shooting, Audrey Hale, 28, who was transgender and went by the name ‘Aiden,’ was later shot and killed by police.
