• Spicy Foods
Though Nigerians enjoy spicy food, consuming spicy foods can be harmful to your health because they can cause heartburn, especially if you go to bed practically immediately after eating them. Insomnia and diarrhea can also be caused by spicy foods. As a result, it’s critical to decrease the amount of spicy in your night meals.
• Chocolate
Many of us enjoy desserts after a proper dinner meal and chocolate is a fantastic dessert. Chocolate, on the other hand, has been discovered to contain caffeine, a chemical that is known to trigger frequent rapid eye movement (REM) during sleep, making you feel sleepy the next morning.
• Simple Carbohydrates
Bread, breakfast cereals , spaghetti, pizzas, fruit drinks, and other similar foods fall within this category. Because they have a high glycemic index, they are easily absorbed into the bloodstream and should be avoided late at night. Because you won’t burn the sugars while sleeping, the sugars will be converted to fat, which will be stored in your body and cause you to gain weight.
