Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has revealed his conversation with former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, concerning Thiago Silva.
Ferdinand said Lampard had indicated that Silva is on everything when Chelsea is working on tactics for the team, adding that the centre-back always wants to know what is going on and put his best into it.
Silva played every minute of Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup final 2-1 victory over Palmeiras last weekend.
The Brazilian won the Player of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
“Do you know what I’ve heard about him, what Frank told me about him when he first got there?” Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube channel.
“He said, “Rio, he’s on everything! When we’re doing the tactics for the team, he wants to know what’s going on. He’s got a translator, he doesn’t understand English perfectly, but he wants to know, he wants to understand everything, and puts his input into it.”
“He’s a proper football man, a professional and he wants it.”
Silva, 37, joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020.
