After the nation was struck by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake, Turkish second-division team Yeni Matalyaspor have revealed that goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan has died at the age of 28.
On February 5, when families were still asleep, a terrible earthquake struck both Turkey and Syria.
Turkaslan was reported missing on Monday, and now that he was found dead on Tuesday, the team has paid respect to their goalkeeper.
‘Our goalkeeper, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, lost his life after being under the collapse of the earthquake. Rest in peace,’ the club tweeted.
‘We will not forget you, beautiful person.’
