Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has publicly spoken out for the first time since Kylian Mbappe snubbed a move to the club to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
Perez in an interview on El Chiringuito, claimed Mbappe changed his dream, but made it clear no player is bigger than Los Blancos.
According to him, he found out about the player’s change of heart about 15 days before he signed the mega-deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
“This is not the Mbappe I wanted to bring, he is another one, who must have changed his dream.
He changes, he is offered other things, he is pressured and he is already another footballer. There is no one at Real Madrid above the club.
“He is a great player, he can win more than others, but it is a collective sport and we have values and principles that we cannot change,” Perez said as per Marca.
Mbappe’s new contract with PSG will see him stay at the club until 2025 for £650,000 per week.
