Aisha Halilu Buhari is the First Lady of Nigeria and wife of the current President Muhammadu Buhari, who assumed office on 29 May 2015 after defeating the then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. Aisha is a cosmetologist, beauty therapist and author.
The Current APC Chairman, Bola Tinubu expressed that the concerns by some individuals that the constitution did not recognise the role of the First Lady had been “forever laid to rest” by the performance of Mrs Buhari.
He made these remarks on Thursday at the public presentation of Aisha’s biography, “Aisha Buhari: Being different,” written by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Women Affairs, Dr Hajo Sani.
The APC leader said;
“Given the First Lady’s achievements, no one can reasonably question the role of a First Lady any longer.”
“Remember there were those who argued that the constitution does not assign an official role to the First Lady.”
