Real Madrid captain, Marcelo has hailed former skipper, Sergio Ramos after the Galaticos won the 2021-2022 LaLiga title on Saturday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men won the title with five more games to the end of the season and Marcelo was the star of the party at Cibeles.
The Brazilian received a standing ovation at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, during and after the match.
“It’s something wonderful, it’s very nice to do this is to go into the history of Real Madrid, the best club in the world,” Marcelo told post match press conference.
“I want to thank Sergio Ramos who took me up there once.
This is for the fans, we won LaLiga [Santander] two years ago and we couldn’t celebrate.
“Celebrating with the fans is the best thing there is, the party is theirs. This is the greatest joy a player can have, celebrating with the fans, after a home game… it’s absolute joy,” he said
Next up for Marcelo and his teammate is their Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester United in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men were defeated 4-3 by Pep Guardiola’s side in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium.
