Congratulations are in order for Jeezy and Jeannie Mai, as it’s just been confirmed that the two have tied the knot!
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai were officially married on March 27th in an intimate ceremony in Atlanta, exactly one year after the couple’s engagement.
Following their whirlwind romance, Jeezy and Jeannie Mai quickly got engaged back in March of 2020—and now, exactly one year later, the two have made it official as husband and wife. In an exclusive with ‘Vogue’ magazine, the two gave fans inside access to their intimate wedding day in Atlanta surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Although Jeezy and Jeannie initially wanted to get married in the South of France or Lake Cuomo, that all changed due to COVID-19. “We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate. But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends,” Jeannie said.
That meant that the couple had to go into action and secure the proper COVID-19 safety protocols for their guests. For everyone who attended, they were required to have negative COVID-19 test results in the days leading up to the wedding and the day of the ceremony. Jeannie explained, saying “Once everyone was tested and confirmed negative, our guests were shuttled to the surprise location—our home.”
Following wedding ceremony, Jeezy and Jeannie were serenaded by Tyrese, who sang his classic song “Sweet Lady” as the couple had their first dance.
Congrats to the happy couple!
