Carlo Cudicini names Chelsea’s best player of the season.
Chelsea hero, Carlo Cudicini, has named defender, Trevoh Chalobah, as the club’s best player of the season so far.
Cudicini, who currently works as a loan and technical coach for Chelsea, stated this ahead of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup quarter-final tie with Brentford on Wednesday night.
Chalobah had not played for Chelsea’s first team before the 2021/22 season.
The England centre-back was given his chance to impress during Chelsea’s UEFA Super Cup victory over Villarreal in August 2021.
The 22-year-old was handed his Premier League debut three days later as Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3-0.
Chalobah has now played 16 games for the West London club and appears to have a bright future under Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel.
“I have to say because he was part of our development phase, Trevor Chalobah has been my standout player of the season so far for Chelsea,” Cudicini told Ladbrokes.
“He was a late addition in the pre-season squad this summer and I have been working closely with him over the past two years, so I’m extremely proud to see him doing so well.
“Mason Mount is also doing extremely well,” Cudicini added. “He was in and out of the team early on in the season, but he is a pivotal part of things right now.”
