The US advisory urged American citizens to “reconsider travel to Nigeria”. For those who insist on travelling, the US advises them against visiting 14 states in Nigeria as they are rife with terrorism, banditry and kidnapping.
Owing to the rising insecurity situation in the country, especially in the northern and southeast region of the country, the US government has sent out a strong warning to it’s citizens who are currently in Nigeria or planning to travel to Nigeria.
The states listed are Adamawa state, Borno state and Yobe state due to terrorism and kidnapping. Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, and Rivers states due to crime, kidnapping, and maritime crime. Kaduna state, katsina state, Bauchi state, Gombe state and Zamfara state due to kidnapping.
