NIMC PRIORITIZES NIN ENROLMENT OF 2020 UTME.
THE National identity management commission (NMC) has announced that all enrolment centers nationwide will give preference to intending applicants who wish to sit for the 2020 UTME Examinations / Direct Entry Examinations and issuance of National Identification Number (NIN).
The announcement was made by the NMC DG/CEO Engr. ALIYU AZIZ of the NMC head quarters, Abuja today 20th of November, 2019.
In regards to the pursuant to the collaboration between the Commission and the joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the 2020 UTME / DE Examinations, which is in line with the enforcement of the mandatory use of the NIN as provided in the NMC ACT of 2007.
Engr.Aziz In his remarks said the new policy forms part of the ongoing efforts aimed at curbing all unwholesome acts and interactions that have characterized UTME / DE Exams at the point of registration, examination and admission of applicants over the years.
He said “UTME/DE applicants are to be accorded special consideration in line with established standards of the enrollment processes that includes capturing of the biometric and demographic data of any applicants before issuance of the NIN Nad verifying the applicants of the point of UTME/DE registration.
He finally advice that parents/guardians should guide their wards carefully filling the enrolment forms to ensure names are arranged properly and the correct date of birth is registered. ” Where an applicant is below 16 years, such applicants would be required to provide the NIN of his /her parents or guardians and they must confirm that all information supplied to the enrollment officer on the applicants monitor in front of them at the point of registration is correct, he emphasized.
He asked all school authorities and education officers to inform parents and guardians on the importance of enrolling their children /wards for the NIN registration so as to enable the jamb registration commencement in January.
