Court Stops INEC From Engaging MC Oluomo In Material Distribution

In order to distribute election materials in the state while the Labour Party and five other parties’ lawsuit is being heard and decided, the Independent National Electoral Commission has been prohibited from hiring Musiliu Akinsanya, the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, also known as MC Oluomo, by a federal high court sitting in Lagos.

The complaint was filed after Olusegun Agbaje, the Lagos State Residential Electoral Commissioner for INEC, declared plans to use the Lagos State Parks Management Committee for the distribution of election materials.

The Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (defendant/respondent), whether by itself or by its officers, affiliates, servants, privies, or agents, or any person acting or claiming to act for and on behalf of however, was restrained from taking any steps or further steps whatsoever in furtherance of the engagement, according to Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke’s ruling on the case today, February 20.
