The amputee Lady, Mary Daniel, has been suspected of lying to gain sympathy and swindle well meaning Nigerians of their money.
The physically challenged mother of one got the attention of many sympathizers due to her ability of survival despite her condition, but it seems there’s more to it. After her pictures went viral, about N25 Million was raised for her by some Nigerians to enable her start a new life.
During an interview with BBC, Mary Daniel claimed her leg was amputated due to an accident that took the lives of passengers she was in, including her parents. Since then she has become an orphan and have been barely surviving by Hawking sachet water on the streets of Lagos.
However, the Lagos State Government had suspected something fishy in her story after series of threats were linked to her after receiving the money, she started receiving series of calls from her co- conspirators threatening her that she should stick to her own part of the bargain else they will expose her lies to the public.
The Government discovered that her Father is still alive and her amputated limb was due to complications from birth, of which some people from her hometown confirmed contrary to her story. They also said that her case was staged by some people who wanted to use her to get money from Nigerians.
