Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has appeared to mock Manchester United over their recent struggles.
Manchester United face Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday and on a normal condition, fans of the Red Devils would see that as a walkover match.
But the Arsenal legend and football pundit does not envisage Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils pulling off a victory away at Brentford.
He went on to say it would be a thing of shock to him if Manchester United beat their hosts.
Manchester United suffered a poor start to their Premier League campaign as they lost 2-1 to Brighton right inside the Theatre of Dreams last weekend.
But the Red Devils would be looking to bounce back from that defeat as they travel to Brentford to face the Bees.
“Manchester United were Manchester United, weren’t they? They’re no different from last season, and I don’t see them winning this game,” Merson told Sportskeeda.
“They don’t have an identity. I’m not sure if Cristiano Ronaldo will start this game.
“Manchester United are all over the place at the moment, and I’d be shocked if they pulled off a victory here. I don’t see Brentford losing this match, and a draw is a fairly likely outcome.”
