Potential Grammy winners, we will have to mention Omah Lay, Rema And Fireboy.
They call them the new generation of afrobeat and they have been doing exceptionally well, these guys have surpassed people’s expectations and they are here to stay and dominate for a long time.
The 63rd Grammy Award 2021 saw our very own Wizkid winning a Grammy for the “Best Music Video” for his role in ‘Brown Skin Girl’, Beyonce’s 2019 hit song. And Burna Boy whose entry won the “Best Global Music Album” category in the 2021 Grammy awards.”.
But with relevance right now the three artistes we can call on to likely bring home Grammy again are Omah Lay, Rema and Fireboy.
OMAH LAY
Omah Lay has to be the biggest revelation among these three, because Rema have Don Jazzy and Fireboy have Olamide but Omah Lay stubbled on us like where is this boy from with an E.P that was arguably the best E.P in 2020.
Omah Lay didn’t stop there, he has been featured by the top goons in the game like Wizkid, Olamide, DJ Spinall, and his recently dropped EP “What Have Done” has been doing incredible numbers with the song “Godly” in everyone’s mouth.
Just in a year and a few months, Omah Lay’s name is global now, he also featured American artistes 6lack in Damn remix.
REMA
Among these three, Rema has a more international audience and more international features. Former U.S President Barrack Obama once named Rema’s song in his music of the year.
Since the drop of Dumebi, Rema has been dropping hits back to back and mind-blowing numbers with charts both home and abroad.
Recall when Rema won the next rated at headies, he said he’s the future, I guess the young artiste was right after all.
FIREBOY
Fireboy took everyone by surprise because nobody expected him to be that good. With two solid albums back to back, Fireboy has shown us we are yet to see nothing.
Fireboy’s passion always reflects in his music and he has a way of connecting with the audience.
On February 13, 2021, Fireboy graced the illustrious stage of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tonight, and performed the opening track from his critically acclaimed album, ‘Apollo.’ That is international recognition.
We have to give it to these guys because they are putting Nigeria on the map and they are doing that at a young age…..
So flowers,
Between these three artistes, who has the potential to win a Grammy?
Let’s hear from you.
