Alcohol is not a sin, But drunkenness is a sin – Reno Omokri declares
Nigerian pastor Reno Omokri says Alcohol is not a sin. But drunkenness is a sin Deuteronomy 14:26, 1 Timothy 5:23.
Eating is not a sin. But gluttony (overeating) is a sin-Ezekiel 16:49.
Sleeping is not a sin. But oversleeping leading to laziness is a sin-Proverbs 19:15.
Money is not a sin-Ecclesiastes 10:19. But the love of money is a sin-1 Timothy 6:10.
Even a virtue done to the extreme is sinful-Philippians 4:5.
Christ Himself drank wine. All wine is alcoholic. There is NOTHING like alcoholic wine. There is wine which is alcoholic, from which the alcoholic content has been subsequently chemically removed by a process invented by Louis Pasteur in the 17th Century.
Before then, such techniques was not known. In any case, the word used in Scripture is actually ‘strong drink’.
Scripture is very specific. Wine refers to fermented grape juice with alcohol in it. The process of fermentation is an alcoholic process.
Now, please do not take my word for it. Go and research what I have just taught here.
In fact, Deuteronomy 14:26 encourages you to use your tithes to buy “wine, or strong drink”.
You guys are putting a burden on yourselves that Scripture did not put. Psalm 104:15 says God created wine to gladden the heart of man.
Christ drank wine, and taught us that wine would be drunk in God’s Kingdom-Matthew 26:29. These words of Christ are corroborated (not that we should ever need to corroborate Christ’s Words) by Judges 9:13.
Read Scripture for yourself. Do not just swallow religious traditions that you are taught!
