Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi promises badan-Kano Rail Line To Be Ready By 2023.
The Federal Government of Nigeria through her Minister of Tranaports honorable rotimi has said the Ibadan-Kano rail line will be ready by 2023.
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, said this in an interview with journalists in Abuja.
The minister expressed optimism that the project would be ready before the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), leaves office in 2023.
When asked what could be the reason for the delay in completing the Lagos-Ibadan rail project, he said it was not the fault of the contractors but the urban nature of Lagos.
He said, “We have pipes. For instance, for the road to the seaport, we had to bring a company from Italy to identify the pipes and know those who owned them because the companies did not know their pipes.
“The next thing is, if we try to dig out the pipes, the power supply will stop in Lagos and there will be no fuel literally for the entire country apart from those from Port Harcourt.
“So, we brought another company that was not part of the contract. We brought another company that came to find the solution to how to build on those pipes without causing damage because one of the problems with those pipes is that once it is not properly done, the whole of Lagos will be gone.
“We have to put enough engineering to protect those pipe and oil that they carry so that we don’t have an explosion.”
The minister also said the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, had directed a Russian firm to partner with Nigeria to construct the Lagos-Calabar rail line.
He said the government was waiting for feedback from a Russian firm for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar rail line.
The government of Russia and Nigeria had reached an agreement for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar rail line during Buhari’s visit to Russia in October last year.
The minister also expressed optimism that the bill of quantity that the Russian firm would present would be cheaper than what the Chinese had proposed.

Mrs Janet Ayoola, lost her 39-year-old marriage to her husband, Olajide Ayoola, for denying him sex for seven years. An Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Monday granted the request of Janet’s enstranged husband, Olajide, for dissolution of the marriage. The Court’s President, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, said that since the petitioner insisted on divorce after several interventions, the court was left with no option than to grant him his wish.
“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mr Olajide Ayoola and Mrs Janet Ayoola dissolved today. Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife. “Two of you should go on your separate ways unmolested. The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavour,” Koledoye ruled.
He, however, ordered Olajide to pay a severance of N200, 000 to Janet for her to move on with her life. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 70-year-old pensioner had earlier approached the court to terminate his marriage, accusing his wife of starving him of sex. “Janet who stayed under the same roof with me refused me to make love to her for good seven years. She will not even allow me to touch her, let alone sleep with her,” the petitioner told the court. Ayoola said that his wife wanted to terminate his life so as to inherit his property.
“She had attacked me both physically and spiritually,” he said. The embittered husband said that Janet lacked care for him. “My wife had to employ some domestic staff who came to wash my clothes and cooked for me. “Janet was an ungrateful woman. I had established businesses for her severally but the businesses collapsed due to her inability to manage them well. “ My wife is a fighter; she fights me and everybody on the street,” Ayoola said.
The petitioner said that the respondent lacked respect for him and also instigated their children against him. He pleaded with the court to end their marriage on the ground of lack of love. “Please court terminate our marriage because my wife may succeed one day by killing me in my sleep,” he begged. The respondent denied all the allegations. She made a fervent plea to the court not to annul their marriage, saying that she still loved her husband.
The 58-year-old businesswoman said that she did not starve her husband of sex. “My husband asked me to leave our room for another room, claiming I snored. “I never made any attempt to kill my husband nor instigated any of our children against him,” Janet said. The mother of four said that her husband always refused her food for reason best known to him. (NAN)
checkout the Amazing !! Aliu Family where all sisters are doctors .
Meet The Aliu family, a group of five sisters from northern Nigeria, are gaining traction after they all emerged doctors, working in different fields of the medical profession.
Amid the realities that had formed the basis of gender roles decades ago, it was relatively difficult to foresee a future wherein women take on the same opportunities availed their male counterparts.
But, as anti-discriminatory laws have continued to gain grounds alongside well thought out social movements, leaders have continued to emerge from a faction that had suffered subjugation.
It is in this light that the Aliu sisters have been earning admiration from technocrats, academics, political elites, as well as other social groups from around the country.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Monday, Atiku Abubakar, a former Nigerian vice-president, joined in the frenzy, charging Nigerians to educate the entire society by simply educating the women.
“Awesome. If you educate a woman, you educate the family and the community,” Atiku, who doubled as the 2019 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), wrote.
Among the bevy of five ladies are Salamat Aliu (first female neurosurgeon in West Africa), Halima Aliu (plastic surgeon), Raliat Aliu (an obstetrician and gynaecologist), Khadijah Aliu (a family physician), and Medinah Aliu (public health physician). The sisters are said to be from Okene, Kogi state.
“I believe Africa is rising above gender inequality and with examples like this, we can create a more supportive environment for women,” a Twitter user wrote while marveling at the sisters’ feat.
An Instagram user, who is said to have first shared the photo, also wrote: “Yet a miserable man will be crying for a son. Just look at these beautiful, intelligent girls. I rejoice with them, parents.”
Nigerian Court Orders Arrest Of Abdullahi Dikko.
A Federal High Court situated in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Inde Dikko over his continued failure to attend court to answer to a charge of fraud brought against him and two others by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).
Chief Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, while ordering Dikko’s arrest on Monday, noted that his lawyer, Solomon Akuma (SAN) who, on the last adjourned date, undertook to ensure that his client attends court today, only turned around to present a medical report, claiming Dikko was critically ill and on admission in London.
Justice Ojukwu noted that Dikko’s address, as shown on the medical report – No: N6 Amhed Musa Crescent Jabi, Abuja – did not support his lawyer’s claim that Dikko was on admission in a London hospital.
The judge, however, noted that should the prosecution, in executing the bench warrant discovers that Dikko is actually on admission in a London hospital, the execution shall be suspended.
The judge added that otherwise, the prosecution should arrest Dikko and produce him in court on March 16, 2020 which is the next adjourned date for arraignment.
In the charge marked: “FHC/ABJ/CR/21/2019, Dikko is named with two others – a former Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Services, Garba Makarfi and Umar Hussaini, a lawyer and owner of Capital Law firm – as defendants.
Dikko, Makarfi and Hussaini are, among others, accused of inducing the Managing Director of Cambial Limited, Yemi Obadeyi, to pay N1.1 billion (N1,100, 952,380.96) into the account of Capital Law Office as a refundable “completion security deposit” for the purchase of 120 units of duplexes as residential accommodation for officers of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Hussaini was said to have distributed the money into various other bank accounts and for his part in the deal, he was rewarded with the sum of $3 million.
Reverend Father Mbaka Denies Bayelsa Governorship Prophecy.
Adoration Ministry most Reverend , Emene, Enugu, AMEN, Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka has refuted a purported prophecy report in social media alleging that he predicted the new Bayelsa governor will stay only 2 months in office.
The Enugu priest, Father reacted falsely to the rumour during his Sunday sermon at the Adoration ground, Emene, Enugu.
Mbaka maintained that he has never at any time, place or circumstance made any prophecy about Bayelsa or who becomes the Governor of the state or his duration in office.
Describing the report as malicious, handwork of mischief makers and wicked individuals who are on demonic and satanic assignment to damage his reputation, Mbaka, warned them to deceased else they would attract the wrath of God upon themselves.
According to a statement signed by Media and publicity secretary of Adoration Ministry, Barr. Ike Maximus Ugwuoke, “Our attention has been drawn to report in a section of the media that spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Fr. Mbaka has prophesied that the newly sworn-in Governor of Bayelsa State, Diri Douye will stay in office as Governor for only two months.
“The report alleged that he predicted this in “Delta state at the ceremony to mark his friend and colleague who clocked 68 years.
“For the sake of justice and fairness, we challenge the originators of this false and mendacious report to mention the name of the so-called Fr Mbaka’s friend and colleague whose ceremony he attended in Delta State. The truth is that Fr Mbaka has not even been in Delta since this year.
“Fr Mbaka has been preoccupied with the charitable and miraculous works God has been using him to do in the ministry. He has been immersed in thanksgiving to God for the fulfilment of his prophecy on Hope Uzodimma becoming the Governor of Imo State and so he never attended any such ceremony in Delta State or anywhere else where he could have made such prediction as alleged by these satanic agents.
“During Fr Mbaka’s Sunday mass today, he refuted this report himself publicly at the altar. Those who impersonate Fr Mbaka in the media should be careful else they are attracting the wrath of God upon themselves,” The statement reads.
Tboss curses Troll for calling her daughter ugly
Few hours ago, TBoss this afternoon went live on Instagram to lay curses on a troll who referred to her child as Ugly.
Recall that the ex-BBNaija housemate revealed the face of her daughter for the first time on Valentine’s day, six months after she welcomed her. Trolls left hateful comments under her post, mocking her child and referring to the child as ”ugly.”
In a live video on Instagram which she did this afternoon, TBoss said she was 35 when she found out that she was pregnant and since marriage wasn’t coming for her, she embraced motherhood which she says has been her greatest achievement.
Weeping profusely, the reality TV star said she never wanted to share the photo of her child as she felt it was in the best interest of her daughter not to. However, she was pressured by her family members to share her baby’s photo but trolls were very unkind with their comments.
Picking a negative comment from one MsHafsat, a visibly angry TBoss placed a curse on the IG troll that she will never carry her own child.
