It’s Official: BTS will be taking the stage to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards!
BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band that began formation in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The septet composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
On March 7 local time, the Recording Academy announced its full lineup of performers for this year’s annual Grammy Awards, and BTS was one of the artists on the star-studded list.
The group will be joining fellow performers Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, Harry Styles, Cardi B, Post Malone, John Mayer, Doja Cat, Miranda Lambert, Chris Martin, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Black Pumas, DaBaby, Brandi Carlile, and more.
BTS previously performed at the 2020 Grammy Awards last year as part of a collaboration with Lil Nas X, making this year’s ceremony their first time taking the stage alone to perform one of their own songs at the Grammy Awards.
BTS is also nominated for their first Grammy Award this year, with their smash hit “Dynamite” earning a nod in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. (While their 2018 album “Love Yourself: Tear” previously scored a nomination in 2019, it was nominated in the Best Recording Package category, which is awarded to an album’s art director and not the artist.)
The 2021 Grammy Awards will air live on March 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
