The job I do isn’t a stable one. So what I do is I buy things in advance. I never wanted to hear one day that there was no food in the house. Even when I don’t have cash, I still buy food and household items ahead because I wanted to make sure my family lacked nothing.
Then we had a misunderstanding over money. The issue was just ₦24,000. We were in the hospital with my daughter, and I didn’t have money. I had to wait for my brother, who wasn’t in Nigeria, to send me money.

I’m talking about just ₦24,000. The way she responded provoked me. I said, “Oh, you think I’m weak, abi?” So I seized her phone and told her she wouldn’t get it back for the next three days.
It wasn’t even up to 24 hours before she went out and bought another phone for ₦319,000. That was when I realised, oh, this same person I was str&ggling to raise ₦24,000 around had over ₦600,000 sitting in her account all along…”
