1.6 million applicants jostle for FG’s 30,000 job slots

Over 1.6 million applications have been received for the recruitment into the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services, CDCFIS.

The Board  Secretary of CDCFIS, Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd), who disclosed this in Uyo at the ongoing recruitment exercise into the services, said 60,000 applicants have been shortlisted and about 30,000 persons are expected to be recruited.

Jibril said the physical screening which started on Monday are conducted simultaneously in 14 designated centers across Nigeria to ensure proximity and nearness to applicants.

He explained  that uploaded documents would be verified and physical examination of applicants to determine their  medical and physical fitness done stressing  that the physical screening and document verification was for applicants who participated in the computer based test conducted in Nov. 2025.

Jibril explained that the recruitment would be competence and merit based  to ensure only the best hands are recruited into the service.

While warning against any form of sharp practices, the Board Secretary reminded applicants that the recruitment exercise is free.

His words, “I am here in Uyo to witness the continuation of the exercise for the recruitment into the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service. About 60, 000 out of over 1.6 million applicants had been shortlisted for the physical screening exercise, and not less than 30, 000 would be recruited into the services.”

Jibril said the physical screening exercise involves physical checks of applicants height, eyes and legs to ensure there is no deformity in paramilitary services.
