The transition of power from President Muhammadu Buhari to President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima will proceed as planned, regardless of ongoing court cases challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential election, according to the Federal Government. Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Transition Committee, confirmed that the refurbishment of offices for the incoming President and Vice President had been completed and security personnel from the Department of State Services and Nigerian Police Force had been deployed. The transition process is well underway, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a smooth transfer of power on May 29. Litigation will not hinder the process, and the security committee is tasked with safeguarding the transition. Mustapha emphasized that Nigerians are law-abiding and that legal avenues are available for those who wish to contest the election result, but this will not interfere with the hand-over on May 29.
