Kanye West is once again making historical moves and this latest news involves his incredibly popular Yeezy sneakers.
It is reported that the 2008 Nike Air Yeezy’s that Kanye wore to the 2008 Grammys went on sale for over $1 million making it the highest-priced sneaker ever to go on sale in the history of global sneaker sales!
The Yeezy’s were worn by Kanye during his emotional performance of “Hey Mama” and his Grammy-winning song “Stronger.” One of the most prized and sought-after sneakers in existence.
The size-12 sneakers sent fashion fanatics into a frenzy at the time, as they were unidentifiable save for the trademark Nike swoosh on the side.

Thee Yeezy’s are offered from Ryan Chang, renowned sneaker collector and curator and will be on public exhibition from 16 – 21 April in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s Head of Streetwear & Modern Collectables, spoke about the historic shoe:
“This pair is critical to the development of the Yeezy franchise, which has become one of the most important sneaker and lifestyle brands in history. Debuted on-stage at the Grammys in 2008, the sneakers set off waves in the sneaker community as people tried to identify the mysterious pair. Afterwards, we saw a series of collaborations between Kanye and Nike, and then later the birth of his line with adidas. We are excited to bring this item to market in Hong Kong alongside other sneakers from our Buy-Now Sneaker Shop – available for immediate purchase – and hope that sneakerheads as well as music and fashion lovers will enjoy visiting this iconic pair at our exhibition in Hong Kong.”
