Some Oil Firms Donate Ambulance, PPE To A/Ibom Government, Ahmadiyya Gives To 800 Families, Journalists

Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) and the JV Partners, Nigerian Petroluem Development Company and Shoreline Natural Resources Ltd, has donated food items and medical equipment to the 112 host communities and 25 selected health institutions in OML 30 operational area.

Head, Community Relations, Sylvester Okoh, who made the presentation on behalf of the company at the Ughelli Production Centre (UPC), Ughelli, for onward distibution to the various communities, urged the community leaders to ensure fair distribution to as many as possible.

Chairman of OML30 Community Development Board CDB, Morris Idiovwa, expressed appreciation to the firms for the kind gesture and called on all the cluster chairmen and community leaders to ensure that the food items get to the indigenes of the host communities without rancour, bias or favouritism.

Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon. Emman Amgbaduba and the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Godwin Adode, who received the items on behalf of the Delta state government, appreciated HEOSL for providing palliatives and urged other oil firms operating in the state to emulate same.

In related developments, Natural Oil field Services Limited (NOSL) and the Nigeria Petroleum Development Corporation (NPDC) have jointly donated an ambulance and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Akwa Ibom State government, with a view to combating the Coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic. Secretary to the state government, Emmanuel Ekuwem, received the items in Uyo. Presenting the items, NPDC Managing Director, Mansor Sambo who was represented by the NPDC’s Deputy Manager, Community Relations, David Arijoba, praised the state government’s efforts in combating the pandemic and noted that the presentation of the ambulance and other medical supplies was imperative at this time.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria under the auspices of its global humanitarian group, Humanity First International Nigeria also donated food items to families and journalists as part of the group economic palliatives measures to battle with the economic hardship created by Coronavirus.

The relief packages were for 500 families in Lagos, 300 in Kano as well as the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Lagos.

The Amir (National Head), Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alatoye Folorunso Azeez represented by Naib Amir (Deputy National Head), Finance Administration, Alhaji Mufadhil Bankole handed over the food items to the Secretary, Humanity First International Nigeria, Brother Raji, who also handed the food items to NUJ Lagos and commenced the distribution of the food items to the poor and vulnerable families in the Ojokoro area of Lagos.
